Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour comes to the UK

News — By OAGmag on January 10, 2011 at 2:09 pm

The North Face®, have announced their status as one of the principal partners of the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour UK Edition

The tour which returns to the UK this year with 15 dates over 12 different locations starts in London at The Outdoors Show on Friday 14th January with a special showing and runs until Saturday 5th March in Cardigan.

The Banff Mountain Film Festival is one of the largest and most prestigious mountain festivals in world and has been held in the Canadian Rockies throughout November since 1975.  Hot on the heels of the festival each year, the best films head off on a tour of around 285 communities and 30 countries across the globe.  21 different films including 6 that won awards in Banff will be showcased across the 12 locations of the tour

The short films feature an assortment of adrenaline-packed action sports in incredible, wild and remote locations across the globe.  Eadaoin Hutchinson, Marketing Controller for The North Face UK, commented ‘The North Face® also sponsors the event in Canada, so it made complete sense to be involved with the UK tour.  The Banff Mountain Film Festival, and everything it represents, has complete synergy with our brand and reaches our target audience perfectly.  You can go and watch inspiring films on anything from Alpinism, Climbing, Ski-ing, Mountain Biking and Base Jumping’.
