How to repair a bike chain

Bike, Bike equipment, Gear, Technical — By Outdoor Adventure Guide on March 16, 2012 at 3:50 pm

Having a few key skills and the right multi-tool could save your bike tour from a premature end, so we spoke to Adrian at Terry White’s bike shop to show us how to get it done.

1. The Missing Link comes in two parts. The gold-coloured link is for the back of the chain, the silver one for the front.

2. Insert the gold one at the back of the chain and the silver one at the front. Push the two halves together and pull.

3. They two link halves should lock into place. Tension the chain by applying the rear brake.

Carry a Missing Link (£4.99) to repair your chain on-the-go.
