Approach Shoes: Meindl Cuba Lady

Footwear — By Outdoor Adventure Guide on July 16, 2012 at 12:11 pm

Meindl Cuba Lady GTX £95

Meindl-cuba-shoe

First impressions: A new generation of ‘Magic’ shoes for everyday use on the trail. Rather conventional looking shoe from Meindl which despite it’s looks is very light. With VARIOfix lacing system the fit is good out of the box. The sole is quite aggressivley lugged but lacked the ‘stickiness’ that I prefer. The sole profile si good and they feel very stable under foot. The fit is a little wide a fit for me and these are no excpetion.

FABRIC Leather and mesh

FIT Light and comfortable. Firm footbed

SOLE Meindl

FOOTBED Meindl Air-Active

OAG Likeys Very light and breathable. Good heel support

OAG No Likeys Lacked under foot cushioning, a little boxy in style and the build quality is not up to the usual Meindl standard

Overall A very breathable shoe which is ideal for active summer days on the trail.

Verdict

Fit: 16

Design: 15

Performance: 16

Quality: 15

Value: 15

Overall:77/100
