New Channel 4 programme gets people climbing

Climb — By Outdoor Adventure Guide on April 24, 2012 at 10:34 am

Meet Maggie. She’s 45 and a grandmother. She has a secret talent: climbing. She’s never

Martin Chester - British Mountain and Ski Guide

done it before, but tonight you can watch her navigating a rockface for the first time.

Channel Four’s new programme, Hidden Talent, tests 900 people to discover if they have any secret skills they never even knew about. In the first episode, 10 of them are found to have an aptitude for climbing so Plas y Brenin Director of Training and Scott Mountain guide Martin Chester puts them through their paces.

Maggie is then given the chance to take the talent even further, receiving one to one training from Martin before attempting to climb the Old Man of Stoer in Scotland.

To see if Maggie manages the 200m ascent after just 18 days of training, you can catch Hidden Talent on Channel Four at 9pm on 24 April.
